Guardian Angel Secondary Education Resource Centre is a Centre for children with severe learning difficulties. Originally designed to take 40 students in 1963, it was extended in 1969 and in 1972 and presently caters for students aged between 11 and 16.
The environment of the School is unique compared to mainstream schools. It has ample grounds divided into play areas and open spaces within which many trees, shrubs and seasonal flowers grow. These give life to the school, provide shelter for ‘picnics in the shade’ and embellish the environment. The centre also houses a fully functional Skills Unit made up of a fully equipped Food Lab, a Science Lab, an Information Technology Lab, a Design and Technology Lab and Multisensory rooms.
The Centre is now utilizing a secondary type learning program. Lessons are intended to ensure that students develop both cognitive, physical and social skills leading to independent learning. This is achieved in lessons that include Literacy, Numeracy, Independent Living Skills, Science, Design & Technology, Information Technology, Home Economics, PSCD, Physical Education, Crafts.
